The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has registered a complaint with Delhi police, citing an anonymous call that threatened the life and property of its president, Kalyan Chaubey.

An AIFF official lodged the complaint for the registration of an FIR against unknown individuals at the Dwarka Sector 23 police station on Thursday.

According to the complaint, the AIFF office in Dwarka received a call on September 10, issuing threats not just to Chaubey but also to his family. ''Delhi police has received a complaint at Dwarka Sector 23 police station and are conducting an inquiry,'' a senior police officer informed PTI.

The AIFF has been embroiled in multiple controversies recently, including the firing of its former secretary general, Shaji Prabhakaran, and corruption accusations against Chaubey by the former legal head. Chaubey, elected as AIFF president in September 2022, has denied these charges.
