AAP leader and Delhi's former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, accompanied by senior party members, visited Raj Ghat in the national capital on Saturday. Sisodia was released on bail from Tihar Jail on August 9 after spending 17 months behind bars in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case.

The visit to Raj Ghat was a gesture of reverence to Mahatma Gandhi, with Sisodia paying his respects at the memorial. The AAP leader also visited a Lord Hanuman temple earlier in the day. 'Lord Bajrang Bali has blessed me. Arvind Kejriwal also has blessings of Lord Bajrang Bali and you will see that Kejriwal ji will also be blessed in the same way,' Sisodia said. Accompanied by AAP Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, Sisodia emphasized Hanumanji's protective role in the party's crises.

Early Saturday morning, Sisodia shared a photograph on social media of him enjoying his morning tea with his wife, captioning it as his 'first tea of an independent morning… after 17 months!' Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in February 2023 for alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped Delhi Excise Policy. His bail was welcomed by AAP leaders, including Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, who termed it a 'victory of justice.' Sisodia thanked the Constitution drafted by Babasaheb Ambedkar and expressed confidence that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal would also soon be released.
