Ayodhya, steeped in a festive atmosphere, witnessed a captivating spectacle on Wednesday with the vibrant Deepotsav procession. This annual cultural event saw vibrant tableaux depicting characters and episodes from the epic Ramayan as they traversed the historic temple town.
The procession concluded with an 'aarti' performed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who engaged with the performers portraying Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman. These characters, earlier flown in by helicopter as a nod to the mythical Pushpak Viman, added an authentic touch to the celebrations.
With a goal of setting a world record by lighting over 28 lakh diyas along Saryu River banks, the Uttar Pradesh government arranged the event meticulously. Thousands witnessed folk performances and live narration of Ramcharitmanas episodes, highlighting Ayodhya's cultural heritage.
