As the festival of lights draws near, Ayodhya is bustling with preparations for Deepotsav 2024. Scheduled for October 30, this year's event aims to set a Guinness World Record by lighting 25 lakh diyas along the ghats of the Sarayu River, the day before Diwali.

The ambitious plan by the Uttar Pradesh government involves illuminating 55 ghats, surpassing the 51 lit last year. According to Guinness World Records official Nischal Barot, the main challenge is counting the diyas, with a team of thirty members and 300 involved in the counting process. "Our system relies on symmetry, and we have both manual and digital counts," Barot explained.

Adding to the grandeur, a three-day exhibition at Ram Katha Park showcases artworks depicting the Ramayana by the Lalit Kala Academy. The event reflects Diwali's spirit, symbolizing light over darkness, and includes family celebrations with prayers, sweets, and gifts, culminating in vibrant fireworks.
