Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's initiative to eliminate poverty, the Gonda district administration will deliver a unique Diwali celebration to the Vantangiya community in Maheshpur and Ramgarh villages. The Vantangiya Mahotsav 2.0 is set for October 27 and aims to share festive joy while bolstering the community's living conditions.

The Vantangiyas, among Uttar Pradesh's most marginalized forest tribes, are the focus of this endeavor. Gonda District Magistrate Neha Sharma announced the festival's agenda, which includes gifting essential items and clothing to all Vantangiya families in the Tarabganj tehsil villages.

Preparatory initiatives are underway, including cleanliness drives and health camps scheduled for October 24 and 25, emphasizing health and hygiene. Initiated by Sharma herself in 2023, the festival aligns with the Chief Minister's 'Zero Poverty' vision, connecting the community with poverty reduction programs and facilitating a dignified and joyful Diwali celebration.
