Tragedy in Kota: Coaching Student Found Dead in Hostel Bathroom
An 18-year-old coaching student, Kushagra Rastogi, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in his hostel bathroom in Jawahar Nagar, Kota. Despite police collecting evidence, an FIR was not registered at the request of the parents, who also refused a postmortem. The body was handed over for last rites.

An 18-year-old coaching student, Kushagra Rastogi, was discovered lifeless in the bathroom of his hostel room in Jawahar Nagar, Kota, on Monday. Police collected evidence from the scene upon being informed by the hostel's caretaker, however, no First Information Report (FIR) was filed at the request of Rastogi's parents.
His parents also declined a postmortem examination, leading authorities to release the body for last rites. The student, originally from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, had enrolled in a coaching institute in Kota for engineering admission preparation in April and was staying with his mother in the hostel.
According to the police, Rastogi's mother found him unresponsive after he failed to come out of the bathroom for 15-20 minutes. Despite being rushed to a local hospital where doctors attempted CPR, Rastogi was pronounced dead. The incident has raised many questions, but the lack of an FIR and postmortem means some may remain unanswered.
