A daring rescue unfolded on the Atal Setu bridge, connecting south Mumbai to Navi Mumbai, on Friday evening. A taxi driver's quick thinking, coupled with the agility of four traffic cops, prevented a 56-year-old woman from falling into the Arabian Sea.
At around 7 pm, Reema Mukesh Patel, a resident of Mulund, had halted her taxi on the Nhava Sheva side of Atal Setu and precariously positioned herself on the bridge's crash barrier. A viral video shows the harrowing moments that followed.
As Patel appeared to lose balance and began to fall, the taxi driver swiftly grabbed her by the hair, securing her precarious position. Four traffic cops immediately sprang into action, climbing onto the railing and successfully pulling her to safety. The police are now investigating the incident further.
