Train services on the Harbour line of the Central Railway in Mumbai faced significant disruption Saturday morning due to a snag in overhead equipment between Mankhurd and Vashi stations, causing major inconvenience to commuters during rush hours, officials reported.

The services remained completely suspended for two hours following a breakdown in the overhead equipment on the Down (Vashi-bound) line around 7.30 am, which was eventually repaired by 9.30 am, stated a Central Railway spokesperson.

Following the resumption, trains were reported running over thirty minutes late. During the downtime, passengers were accommodated on the Trans-Harbour line using the same tickets and passes. The Harbour line is a crucial link, serving lakhs of daily commuters between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
