Sunil Kumar, a 30-year-old from Uttar Pradesh, has dedicated nearly a decade to securing a government job, failing 13 attempts. Kumar symbolizes countless young Indians driven by the pursuit of job stability in government roles despite the country's burgeoning private sector.

Between 2014 and 2022, 220 million people applied for federal jobs, with only 722,000 selected, illustrating immense competition. Government jobs are highly coveted for their perceived security and benefits, overshadowing the promising yet unstable private sector.

Training institutes for government job exams are thriving, with teachers like Zafar Baksh seeing increased demand and business growth. However, data shows most new private sector jobs are either temporary or self-employment roles, not providing the security young aspirants seek.
