Industrial Flux and Kangra Airport Expansion Highlight Himachal Assembly Proceedings

Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan informed the Himachal Pradesh state assembly on Wednesday that 100 industrialists have sought lease transfers and applied for power disconnections.
Responding to BJP's Janak Raj and Jeet Ram Katwal, Chauhan revealed only one industrial unit, K Kiran P International Private Limited, had relocated to Haryana while 5,293 new units were approved, with investments totaling Rs 8,459 crore and generating employment for 29,970 people.
Chauhan acknowledged that industrial closures are common due to various factors but assured the government would investigate the reasons and continue offering electricity at reduced rates. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu discussed the expansion of Kangra Airport and tourism plans, countering opposition leader Jai Ram Thakur's critiques.
