The fire reportedly started on the eighth floor of the nine-story hotel, situated just south of Seoul. Citing Gyeonggi Province fire authorities, Yonhap stated that 46 fire trucks and 150 firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

Despite efforts, the fire has yet to be fully contained, raising concerns about additional casualties, as per a fire official's statement.
