Nepal Delegation Explores Trade Opportunities at Visakhapatnam Port

A 10-member Nepalese delegation visited Visakhapatnam Port to assess its commercial and technical feasibility for enhancing bilateral trade. Key discussions included trade facilitation, logistics, port connectivity, and solutions to reduce turnaround times. The visit aimed to identify collaborative opportunities for smoother trade operations between the two nations.

A 10-member delegation from Nepal visited the Visakhapatnam Port on Friday to evaluate its commercial and technical potential for boosting trade benefits for both nations. The delegation engaged with port officials to discuss various elements such as trade facilitation, lowering logistics costs, improving ease of business operations, reducing turnaround time, and streamlining customs clearance.

Additionally, crucial topics such as port connectivity, transhipment, cruise passenger handling, congestion management, and dredging activities were deliberated upon. These discussions aimed at pinpointing areas for collaboration and improvement to facilitate smoother trade operations between Nepal and India.

Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) traffic manager Y Rama Sekhar presented a detailed powerpoint on port infrastructure and facilities. Other officials also provided insights and potential solutions designed to enhance trade efficiency.
