Capacity-building can be understood as the “process of developing and strengthening the skills, instincts, abilities, processes, and resources that organizations and communities need to survive, adapt, and thrive in a fast-changing world”.

UNIDO is addressing this requirement by concentrating the bulk of its resources and efforts on developing integrated programs for the countries that it serves, especially in Africa.

Emphasizing these activities will enable Africa to accrue the benefits of globalization and reverse the increasing marginalization that the economies of African countries confront.
