England's stand-in captain Harry Brook has surpassed Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli's record for the most runs scored in a bilateral ODI series against Australia. Brook achieved this milestone during the fifth and final ODI at Bristol, delivering an impressive score of 72 runs off 52 balls, including three fours and seven sixes, at a strike rate of 138.46.

Brook emerged as the top scorer of the series, amassing 312 runs at an average of 78.00 across five matches. His contributions included one century and two fifties, with a top score of 110. This performance significantly boosted Brook's ODI statistics, having now scored 719 runs in 20 ODIs, averaging 39.94, with a strike rate of 106.73.

Previously, Virat Kohli held the record with 310 runs at an average of 62.00 and a strike rate of 107.63 in a five-match series in 2019. Despite Brook's outstanding performance, England was unable to clinch the series, ultimately falling 2-3 to Australia.
