The UEFA Champions League 2024-25 edition marks a significant shift with an entirely new format. Gone are the traditional groups; instead, one massive 36-team league will take the spotlight.

In this revamped structure, each team will play eight games, differing from the previous home-and-away format against three other teams. The top eight teams will progress directly to the Round of 16, while teams positioned ninth to 24th will fight for advancement in a knockout play-off.

The change also means more matches, increasing the total from 125 to 189, thereby extending the league phase until January's end, far beyond the earlier December conclusion.
