India's Yuki Bhambri and his French partner Albano Olivetti were knocked out of the US Open in the men's doubles round of 16, suffering a straight-set defeat to top seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacia Zeballos on Sunday.

The Spanish and Argentine duo dominated the match, winning 6-2, 6-2 against the Indo-French pair. Bhambri and Olivetti had shown promising form by defeating Austin Krajicek and Jean-Julien Roger, the 15th seeds, in the previous round.

Meanwhile, second-seeded Rohan Bopanna, partnered with Matthew Ebden, is set for his round of 16 match on Monday. In mixed doubles, Bopanna and Aldila Sutjiadi staged an impressive comeback to reach the quarterfinals, overcoming Australia's John Pears and Czech Republic's Katerina Siniakova.
