Lando Norris dismissed talk of a Formula One title win after his striking Dutch Grand Prix triumph on Sunday, but the McLaren driver's potential is certainly the subject of much speculation.

The 24-year-old Briton secured his second win of the season in Max Verstappen's homeland, notably finishing 22.896 seconds ahead of the Red Bull star. Though footage of Norris crossing the chequered flag set abuzz more than 100,000 largely orange-shirted fans, the title conversation remains premature according to the man himself.

'I've been working hard all year and I'm still 70 points behind Max. So it's pretty stupid to think of anything at the minute,' Norris remarked. Despite clawing back eight points this Sunday, he stressed the need for focus and incremental progress, saying, 'I just take one race at a time.'

Red Bull's motorsport advisor Helmut Marko, however, was less dismissive, acknowledging the threat Norris poses to Verstappen's dominance. Norris' win also marked his first victory from pole position, a feat achieved with the aid of an upgraded McLaren, which he hailed as the finest car over the weekend.
