Ashley Cole Joins England Coaching Staff
Former England left back Ashley Cole has been named as an assistant coach under interim manager Lee Carsley. Cole, who earned over 100 caps for England, will work alongside Joleon Lescott and Tim Dittmer. The team will guide the squad through the Nations League campaign after Gareth Southgate stepped down as head coach.

Ashley Cole, capped over 100 times for England between 2001 and 2014, featured in three World Cups and two European Championships. His inclusion aims to bolster the coaching team with significant international experience.
Joining Cole are former England defender Joleon Lescott and the FA's head of coaching Tim Dittmer. The trio previously collaborated with Carsley during the 2023 Under-21 Euro-winning campaign. Carsley was named interim coach on Aug. 9, following Gareth Southgate's decision to step down. The team will face Ireland on Sept. 7 and host Finland three days later in the Nations League.
