Star India batter Jemimah Rodrigues on Thursday expressed confidence that her maiden foray into the women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) would equip her to handle pressure situations more effectively in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Rodrigues, who will represent Trinbago Knight Riders, is set to face off against the defending champions, Barbados Royals, in their opening match on Friday. Speaking at an interaction organized by Fancode, Rodrigues emphasized that playing in the WCPL serves as crucial preparation for the T20 World Cup 2024.

"Playing in the WCPL allows me to deal with pressure moments, and I view it as important preparation for the T20 World Cup," Rodrigues said. She aims to fine-tune several aspects of her batting ahead of the World Cup, which has been relocated to the UAE from Bangladesh due to political unrest.

Besides focusing on the global event, Rodrigues is committed to helping the Knight Riders win the WCPL title. Fellow Indian international Shikha Pandey, who will also play for TKR, welcomed the appointment of veteran pacer Jhulan Goswami as the team's mentor, stating it would enhance the team environment.
