India to Host T20 Men's Asia Cup in 2025
India has been chosen to host the 2025 men's Asia Cup cricket tournament in T20 format, serving as a pre-cursor to the 2026 T20 World Cup. The tournament will feature teams from Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and one qualifying ACC member.
India is set to host the 2025 men's Asia Cup cricket tournament in the T20 format, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced in its latest Invitation for Expression of Interest (IEOI). This tournament will act as a pre-cursor to the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in India in 2026.
The Asia Cup often serves as a dress rehearsal for the global event, mirroring the format in which the World Cup will be played. The 2023 edition took place under a 'Hybrid Model' hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board, with India's matches held in Sri Lanka.
Looking ahead, Bangladesh will host the 2027 Asia Cup in ODI format, aligning with the 50-over World Cup set for South Africa that same year. Both the T20 Asia Cup in India and the ODI event in Bangladesh will feature 13 games each.
