Lando Norris Leads McLaren One-Two in Hungarian Grand Prix Practice

Lando Norris topped the timesheets in the final practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix, leading a McLaren one-two finish. He clocked a best lap time of 1:16.098. Max Verstappen was third fastest, followed closely by George Russell and Carlos Sainz. Qualifying is set to follow later.

Lando Norris led Oscar Piastri in a McLaren one-two at the top of the timesheets in the final Hungarian Grand Prix practice on Saturday. The Briton lapped the Hungaroring with a best time of one minute 16.098 seconds on new soft tyres with Australian Piastri a mere 0.044 seconds slower.

Red Bull's triple world champion Max Verstappen was third fastest, 0.281 seconds off the pace, with George Russell fourth for Mercedes on a cooler afternoon compared to Friday's scorching temperatures. Verstappen leads Norris by 84 points in the Formula One championship after 12 of 24 races and is aiming for his third successive Hungarian victory.

Ferrari's Carlos Sainz recorded the fifth fastest lap while teammate Charles Leclerc, who crashed on Friday, lagged in 11th. Australian Daniel Ricciardo secured the sixth fastest time for RB, followed by Williams's Alex Albon, Haas's Nico Hulkenberg, RB's Yuki Tsunoda, and Mercedes's seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who rounded out the top 10.

Qualifying is set to follow later at the Hungaroring.
