Father of Suspected School Shooter Arrested Amid Vicious Attack in Georgia
Georgia state officials arrested Colin Gray, the father of Colt Gray, the suspect behind the Apalachee High School shooting that killed four and injured nine. Both had previously been investigated for online threats but were not arrested. The shooter used a semiautomatic rifle, and his motive remains unclear.
Georgia state officials have arrested Colin Gray, the father of 14-year-old Colt Gray, who is suspected of carrying out a deadly shooting at Apalachee High School. The attack resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left nine others wounded.
Previously, both Grays had been questioned by Jackson County officials regarding online threats, but no arrests were made. In last year's investigation, Colin Gray admitted to having hunting guns, but claimed his son did not have unsupervised access to them. The son denied making any online threats.
The fatal attack was carried out using a semiautomatic rifle, and investigators are currently focused on how the shooter obtained the weapon, potential warning signs of the attack, and his motives. The younger Gray is being held without bond and will be charged and tried as an adult.
