Deputy Conservator of Forest Pramod Panchbhai revealed that one leopard was fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle on Gondia-Tirora Road near Majitpur village on Monday night. Despite the swift arrival of a forest team, the animal was declared dead at the scene. The carcass was subsequently moved to Kudwa Garden for a post-mortem examination.
In a separate incident, the carcass of a sub-adult leopard, estimated to be eight to ten months old, was discovered near Bodra village on Tuesday morning with injuries on its neck and back. Pugmarks found nearby indicated that it was likely killed by a tiger.
