A massive fire erupted at the Times Tower commercial building in Mumbai's Kamala Mills compound early Friday morning, causing widespread alarm but fortunately no injuries, according to civic officials.

The blaze, which started around 6.30 am, was initially reported to affect a seven-floor building but was later confirmed to involve a 14-storey structure. The fire was confined to an electric duct spreading between the 3rd and 7th floors. Firefighters battled the blaze using tools like chisels and hammers to break through locked doors.

A total of eight fire engines and other firefighting vehicles were deployed to the scene. The incident, occurring in a compound known for previous major fires, terrified nearby Parkside residential building residents, who attempted to control the flames with their firefighting equipment before official responders arrived.
