The Congress on Tuesday criticized the answers given by SEBI chairperson Madhabi Buch and her husband as insufficient and raising further questions. According to the party, the facts regarding their financial dealings remain uncontested.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh questioned if Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were aware of these discrepancies since 2022. Ramesh asked if they consider these facts trivial and if they believe the functioning of SEBI remains uncompromised.
Ramesh's remarks followed Sitharaman's defense of Madhabi Buch and her husband's financial dealings. Despite their denial of the allegations, the controversy surrounding their conduct continues to draw scrutiny.
