On Thursday, several residents of Thane's Ghodbunder Road assembled outside Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's residence, seeking a meeting to resolve traffic issues in the area.
A significant police presence was noted, with prohibitory orders against large gatherings issued, an official reported.
Protestors highlighted that traffic problems have worsened due to potholed roads and metro construction, particularly since Tuesday. The disruptions have affected students, workers, and essential travel. The 'Justice for Ghodbunder Road' campaign was launched in response. On Thursday night, some residents tried to meet the CM, who wasn't home. Protestors vowed to stay until a meeting is arranged.
