A recent survey shows that almost half of Mumbai's bus commuters are embracing digital means for bookings, with 47% opting for city travel apps.

The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), in collaboration with Grant Thornton, found that the Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) is at the digital forefront with its Chalo app, which has garnered over six million downloads within two years.

The study, which included more than 1,400 participants, emphasized the appeal of digital bookings, citing ease of use, real-time seat availability, and accurate bus tracking as key reasons for this shift.
