In a tragic series of events triggered by heavy rain, three individuals lost their lives, and at least six others sustained injuries after a house collapsed in Haridwar district on Wednesday evening. Torrential rainstorms wreaked havoc across Uttarakhand, leading to flash floods and massive disruptions.
Officials reported a family missing after a cloudburst in the Tehri district's Ghansali area. The rain-induced house collapse in Bharpur village near Roorkee resulted in fatalities and injuries as people were buried under the debris. The injured are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The city of Haridwar experienced severe waterlogging, submerging roads and causing significant damage to infrastructure. A truck carrying essential items for Kanwariyas was washed away in Kharkhari, and about a dozen vehicles were similarly affected. The administration has since rerouted the Kanwariyas for safety.
