A video has surfaced showing a man dragging an unresponsive Indian jackal by a string tied around its neck in Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa district. The incident occurred after the wild canid bit five individuals.
According to forest official Sandeep Waskale, the clip is under verification. Locals claim the jackal was captured but later became unresponsive, only to eventually flee into a forest. This comes amid rising concerns of wolf invasions in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district.
In Malgaon village, a dog-like creature attacked three men and two women sleeping outdoors early Friday. Residents say the animal was initially captured but turned unresponsive before escaping. The five bitten individuals received medical attention, including anti-rabies shots, at the Government Medical College Hospital in Khandwa.
Forest teams are actively searching for the wild animal, initially suspected to be a wolf but now likely identified as an Indian jackal. This incident coincides with similar canid attacks in Uttar Pradesh, where wolves have recently killed six people and wounded several more.
