Comprehensive Security Measures in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi for New Year Celebrations

In anticipation of the New Year festivities, authorities in Uttar Pradesh, led by Inspector General of Police Praveen Kumar, have rolled out extensive security measures across the state. Highlighting Ayodhya, Kumar assured that the authorities are set on providing a hassle-free experience for the large number of pilgrims expected to visit. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are in place, underscoring a commitment to both safety and order.
Concurrently, Delhi Police have announced detailed security strategies to keep celebrations safe in the capital. Notable locations such as Hauz Khas, Connaught Place, and Lajpat Nagar will witness heightened security as crowds are expected to gather for the New Year extravaganza. The deployment includes 27 checkpoints armed with breath analyzers to curb drunk driving, complemented by 14 Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) and 16 Police Control Room (PCR) vans positioned for immediate response.
Police will closely monitor 35 key celebration venues and 15 popular gathering spots such as malls and cinema halls, all under strict surveillance. Enforcement personnel comprise seven Assistant Commissioners of Police, 38 Inspectors, 329 Sub-Inspectors, and Assistant Sub-Inspectors, in addition to 161 female officers. Regular patrols will fortify visibility and ensure quick action against any disruptive behavior. Authorities urge the public to engage in responsible celebrations and remain vigilant, reporting any suspicious incidents through the accessible helpline. This call for cooperation aims to ensure a safe and joyful New Year celebration for all.
