In a dramatic turn of events, Uttar Pradesh minister Ashish Patel has accused the state's Special Task Force (STF) of posing a threat to his life amid ongoing allegations of irregularities in the promotion of lecturers within his department. The minister insists that any threats or incidents during his battle for social justice would be the STF's responsibility.

The allegations were brought to light by Pallavi Patel, an MLA from Sirathu and a member of the Samajwadi Party, who accused the technical education department of bypassing existing service rules for promotions, dubbing it a scam. The issue has sparked outrage, with Ashish Patel contending that a larger conspiracy is afoot.

In response to the allegations, Patel has requested a CBI inquiry to challenge what he calls a baseless media trial damaging his political reputation. He also invited scrutiny of the assets accumulated by him and his wife, Anupriya Patel, since entering politics, stressing the promotions benefit marginalized communities by addressing long-standing injustices.
