Torrential Rains Cause Chaos in Mumbai
Mumbai and its suburbs experienced severe rainfall exceeding 100 mm in ten hours, causing road flooding, flight cancellations, and disruptions in local train services. The adverse weather conditions prompted Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to direct officials to stay vigilant. A total of 60 picnickers were rescued from rising water levels in Navi Mumbai.

Mumbai and its suburbs were battered by heavy rainfall, exceeding 100 mm over ten hours, significantly affecting daily life. Roads were inundated, and train services between Dadar and Matunga stations were severely disrupted due to water-logging.
As of Sunday evening, 36 flights were cancelled, and 15 were diverted, primarily to Ahmedabad, owing to intermittent heavy spells. Runway operations were halted twice for short periods to manage the water accumulation.
In response to the severe weather, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde urged officials to stay on high alert and take regular updates from the IMD. Meanwhile, 60 picnickers were successfully rescued in Navi Mumbai, highlighting the city's resilience amid the deluge.
