In a tragic incident, a person lost their life in a cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh on Saturday as heavy rains battered various parts of Western India, impacting normalcy in Mumbai and Nagpur.

Mumbai experienced intermittent rainfall, leading to waterlogging in several areas. Despite this, local trains remained operational. A high tide of 3.66 meters is anticipated at 11.18 pm, according to weather officials. The city recorded 91 mm of rainfall in 24 hours, while eastern and western suburbs measured 87 mm and 93 mm, respectively.

Vidarbha, Dwarka, Bijapur, Malkangiri, Hamirpur, and Shivamogga saw maximum rainfall, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD also issued a red alert for Gujarat and the Konkan region, and orange alerts for coastal Karnataka and Telangana.

In Nagpur, heavy rains caused flooding, leading to the evacuation of people from low-lying areas and declaring a day off for educational institutions. The IMD predicted continued heavy rainfall in Nagpur and nearby districts over the next two days and advised residents to stay indoors.

Similar weather warnings and alerts were issued for parts of Telangana, Odisha, and Himachal Pradesh due to anticipated heavy downpours.
