Tripura has ensured a steady supply of food items and fuel despite severe flooding that has devastated the northeastern state. A total of 22 people have lost their lives, and over 65,000 have been displaced due to landslides and flood-related incidents since Monday.

Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sushanta Chowdhury reassured citizens at a press conference, stating that the state currently has ample supplies: rice for 76 days, flour for 99 days, pulses for 16 days, and sugar for 5 days. There is also enough petrol and diesel to last for nine days. 'There has been no scarcity despite the difficult conditions,' Chowdhury emphasized.

Efforts are being made to repair the damaged stretches of National Highway 8, vital for the state's connectivity. Meanwhile, authorities have begun air-dropping food packets to the worst-hit areas in South Tripura and Gumati districts. With over 3,000 packets already distributed and 8,000 more ready, the state is striving to prevent any artificial crisis of essential supplies.
