The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court denied bail and a suspension of the prison sentence for Nishant Agrawal, a former BrahMos Aerospace engineer, on Friday.

Justices Vinay Joshi and Vrushali Joshi passed the order after hearing final arguments on Wednesday. Assistant government pleader Anup Badar, representing the government, confirmed the decision. Agrawal, arrested in 2018, was sentenced to life imprisonment on June 3 by a sessions court for spying on behalf of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.

He was convicted under the Information Technology Act and the Official Secrets Act of 1923. Senior counsel Siddhartha Dave appeared on behalf of Agrawal.
