The campaign for two pivotal by-election seats in Madhya Pradesh has reached its conclusion, as state BJP chief VD Sharma expressed high confidence in securing both constituencies with substantial margins. The elections are scheduled for November 13, with vote counting set for November 23, encompassing the Vijaypur assembly seat in Sheopur district and the Budhni seat in Sehore district.
VD Sharma, addressing the media on the last day of campaigning, attributed the BJP's anticipated success to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, and the enthusiastic support from the public. He emphasized the tireless efforts of BJP workers and their significant role in consolidating public trust and blessing for the party's victory.
The BJP leader launched a critique against the Congress, declaring it devoid of pertinent issues. He accused the Congress of negative politics as the public seemingly favored the BJP's development and welfare agenda. Specifically, Budhni, historically a BJP bastion under senior leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan, became vacant following his transition to MP from Vidisha. In Vijaypur, a shift happened when former Congress MLA Ramniwas Rawat joined the BJP after resigning, now serving as the Forest and Environment Minister under Chief Minister Yadav.
