In a strong condemnation, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravinder Raina on Saturday visited the bereaved families of the Village Defence Guards (VDGs) brutally slain by terrorists on November 7. Raina criticized the 'cowardly' attack by Pakistani terrorists and assured that those responsible would pay dearly. He asserted the coordinated efforts by the Indian Army, J&K Police, and paramilitary forces to secure the region, making it clear that terrorists and their accomplices will face consequences. The Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister have promised comprehensive support for the victims' families, Raina added.
The police have recovered the bodies of the two VDG members who were abducted and killed in the terror attack within Kishtwar's forested terrain. As per official reports, the remains were found in Ohli Kuntwara after a rigorous search operation involving the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Army. Earlier on Thursday, the victims, Nazir Ahmed and Kuldeep Kumar, both residents of Kuntwara, were ambushed while grazing their cattle, confirmed authorities.
The attack has drawn widespread condemnation, with Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressing deep sorrow and concern. Abdullah emphasized the critical need for security forces to prevent such tragic incidents going forward. J-K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also denounced the vicious assault, offering homage to the deceased and reiterating the government's commitment to dismantle terrorist organizations. Sinha extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred VDG members, emphasizing a resolute stance against terrorism.
