In a scathing address at a campaign rally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress party of divisive politics, suggesting they benefit from splitting communities such as Dalits, Adivasis, and Backward Classes. Modi claimed that Congress cannot accept the leadership of an OBC Prime Minister and aims to undermine their unity.
The Prime Minister further alleged that historical efforts were made by Congress leaders, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Rajiv Gandhi, to segregate communities, snatching away reservation rights. Highlighting the BJP's achievements, Modi detailed numerous development projects and criticized Congress's past governance failures in addressing issues like drought and water scarcity in Marathwada.
Modi also took aim at Congress for their handling of the Constitution, accusing them of distributing blank copies during the election campaign. He argued that attempts to restore Article 370 were aligned with foreign agendas. The rally sought to galvanize support for the BJP-Mahayuti alliance ahead of the assembly elections.
