The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Srinagar has opened a Public Grievance Cell, focusing on passport verification, to enhance public and police interaction. Directed by the Lieutenant Governor, this effort aims to address public grievances more promptly, according to Additional Director General of Police CID Jammu and Kashmir, Nitish Kumar.

Historically, people encountered obstacles in bringing their verification issues to authorities. The new grievance cell seeks to simplify this process, with plans for a similar setup in Jamui. "For issues concerning passport or service verification, the public can seek assistance here," Kumar informed, highlighting the initiative's potential to alleviate overlooked systemic problems.

Concurrently, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha led a review meeting on security and development across the Kashmir Division's districts in Srinagar, post the Ganderbal terror incident. Key officials, including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, attended. Sinha stressed enhancing security around infrastructure, advocating a comprehensive security audit and increased vigilant patrols.

Significantly, he urged law enforcement to establish a sturdy security network and collaborate effectively with the army and security bodies to combat terrorism. Additional Director General of Police Vijay Kumar and Inspector General Vidhi Kumar Birdi were present.

In response to the attack, Sinha announced financial aid for victims' families, including Rs 6 lakh to the next of kin of deceased civilians and Rs 15 lakh from APCO Infratech. An ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh was designated for injured individuals. Sinha visited Gagangir, assessing security alongside project agencies and officials, reinforcing the commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and support systems.
