The candidates vying for the seat include Dr. Mehtab Chandee A Sangma from the ruling National People's Party, Sadhiarani Sangma of the Opposition TMC, Bernard N Marak representing the BJP, and Jingjang M Marak from Congress. Their nominations were confirmed by election officials on Thursday.
The Gambegre seat fell vacant after Saleng A Sangma of Congress won a seat in the Lok Sabha from Tura. As the November 13 by-poll approaches, the political scenario is buzzing with anticipation as a total of six candidates have entered the fray.
