The Election Commission on Monday refuted claims made by Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut, dismissing his accusations about the Maharashtra election schedule as 'baseless and devoid of understanding'.
Raut alleged the poll schedule favors the BJP, limiting the Maha Vikas Aghadi's (MVA) time to form a government. However, EC sources clarified the timeline adheres to the constitutional mandate, with elections slated for November 20 and counting on November 23.
The panel insists its duty is to organize polls and deliver the election results to the governor within six months, clearly separating these duties from any alleged political maneuvering.
