The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a scathing critique of the Congress-led Karnataka government, accusing it of mismanaging public transport with the Shakti scheme.
Speaking to ANI, BJP leader Dr. CN Ashwath Narayan highlighted how the initiative, which provides free bus travel for women, has led to overcrowding and an alleged collapse of transport services. He suggested that the Congress government is reconsidering the scheme after facing numerous challenges.
BJP National Spokesperson CR Kesavan echoed these sentiments, criticizing Congress's policies as disastrous for state economies. Meanwhile, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar refuted claims of withdrawing the scheme, defending the Congress model as beneficial and well-received by the public.
