In a scathing attack on the Congress party regarding the 'Shakti scheme', Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad demanded an apology from Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. Prasad asserted that Congress has, for the first time, admitted to misleading the public, and questioned whether Kharge has communicated this to Rahul Gandhi, whom he described as an expert in making hollow announcements.
Prasad also criticized the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, highlighting that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu had instructed state employees not to draw their salaries. He pointed to Congress's unfulfilled promises and alleged they deceive voters for electoral gains, contrasting it with the BJP's purported record of keeping its promises, particularly in Karnataka where he claims Congress's guarantee reviews expose their deceptive tactics.
Amidst this political cauldron, Kharge advised Congress units approaching elections to align announcements with budgetary considerations, warning against potential fiscal crises triggered by unplanned commitments. He emphasized that failures in governance could leave future generations burdened with significant socioeconomic challenges.
