As the Maharashtra assembly elections approach, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi expressed confidence in the superior public support for the opposition alliance, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), over the ruling Mahayuti alliance. Chaturvedi criticized the internal discord within the Mahayuti, attributing it to their opportunistic alliance for power gains. She asserted that the people of Maharashtra would vote the ruling party out and highlighted plans for the early announcement of MVA's candidates.
The seat-sharing discussions for the upcoming assembly elections are nearly finalized, according to Shiv Sena (UBT). In a related development, MP Sanjay Raut accused the BJP of manipulating the state's voter lists with the assistance of the Election Commission. Raut announced that this issue would be brought to attention on international platforms, asserting that BJP candidates are attempting to replace legitimate voters' names with false ones.
Further allegations were made against Union Home Minister Amit Shah; Raut claimed Shah's efforts aim to impose President's rule in Maharashtra post-elections. Uddhav Thackeray has scheduled a special meeting to address these concerns. The state will conduct its elections on November 20, with results announced on November 23. This political landscape recalls the 2019 assembly elections, where BJP and Shiv Sena secured 105 and 56 seats, respectively.
