Maharashtra Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat announced on Tuesday that discussions on seat-sharing among Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) allies for the impending assembly elections are nearing completion. He mentioned that a resolution is expected within a couple of days.

The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader confirmed that 50 to 60 assembly seats are currently being negotiated. "A consensus has been reached on the majority of the seats," Thorat stated to PTI.

The opposition MVA encompasses the Congress, NCP (SP), and Shiv Sena (UBT), forming a coalition in the 288-member assembly. Despite some pending decisions, MVA members, including NCP (SP) leader Anil Deshmukh, assured there is no contention over the choice of chief ministerial candidate.
