Maharashtra's Ruling Alliance Set to Finalize Seat-Sharing Deal
Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced that the ruling alliance will finalize seat-sharing for the upcoming assembly elections within three days. Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated on Friday that negotiations over seat-sharing for the assembly elections are expected to conclude within the next three days. The alliance under discussion includes the Bharatiya Janata Party, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's faction of the Shiv Sena, and the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party.
The assembly polls are anticipated to take place next month, with the current assembly's term ending on November 26. Bawankule indicated that discussions concerning 90% of the seats have already been settled, with the remaining 10% anticipated to be finalized shortly.
Following the BJP's central parliamentary board meeting on October 13, Chief Minister Shinde and Deputy CM Pawar are set to reveal which constituencies their parties will contest. Bawankule also mentioned that the BJP intends to maintain its previous strategy of contesting more seats in Vidarbha.
