In a notable electoral triumph, Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda retained his Garhi Sampla-Kiloi seat in the Rohtak district, overcoming his nearest rival from the BJP.
The seasoned politician, aged 77, secured a resounding victory with a margin of 71,465 votes, defeating BJP's candidate Manju Hooda.
Despite this local success, the Congress party faced challenges at the state level, with election trends indicating BJP's lead in 50 of the 90 seats, while Congress was leading in 35 seats.
