On Friday, former MP Ashok Tanwar made a significant return to Congress, encouraging Dalits and backward classes in Haryana to deliver a decisive victory for the party in the state assembly polls. This move arrives just before the October 5 elections, posing a challenge to BJP's campaign efforts.
Tanwar's re-entry into the Congress, made official at the AICC headquarters by party treasurer Ajay Maken, followed a brief period of support for the BJP. The former Sirsa MP had been actively campaigning for the BJP but expressed dissatisfaction with their policies and governance.
Reflecting on his political journey, Tanwar highlighted his belief in Congress principles, crediting the party for his political career. He emphasized a renewed commitment to the rights of Dalits, minorities, and marginalized communities, citing the leadership of Rahul Gandhi as pivotal in upholding social justice values.
