In a tense exchange over Sanatana Dharma, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has called for a robust national act to safeguard traditional beliefs, asserting that these practices cannot be obliterated. This declaration, made during the 'Varahi Declaration' in Tirupati, urged immediate legislative intervention against actions threatening Sanatana Dharma.
Kalyan proposed the formation of a 'Sanatana Dharma Protection Board' at both national and state levels to manage the enactment's implementation. He also suggested annual funding for the board's operations and an authenticity certification for temple offerings and prasadam materials to maintain religious sanctity.
Responding to Kalyan's remarks, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who had previously sparked a controversy by comparing Sanatana Dharma to diseases, commented cryptically, "Let's wait and see." The political dialogue continues amid reports of desecration, with Kalyan affirming his dedication to the Sanathana Dharma Parikshana Trust's mission.
