Michelin, the global tyre giant, has commenced the foundation stone laying for its new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu, with an investment of Rs 563.67 crore. The announcement was made by Minister for Industries TRB Rajaa.
The plant, set to produce passenger car tyres, will feature advanced Industry 5.0 principles, including Artificial Intelligence, robotics, and automation. This strategic reinvestment highlights Michelin's continued confidence in the governance of Tamil Nadu, under Chief Minister M K Stalin.
Rajaa emphasized the significance of Michelin's decision, attributing it to the company's strong faith in the state's vision and the government's supportive industrial policies. The new facility promises to be one of Michelin's most advanced plants globally, focusing on sustainability and operational efficiency.
